Tonight I attended the Post-Season Rally. If you didn’t go, don’t worry. Dodgers recorded it and you can see it all by clicking here. It was a nice event. 10,000 fans showed up. More than what a Tampa Bay Rays game draws. The best part was the ending when the Dodgers arrived and Manny Ramirez and others spoke. Can’t wait for the playoffs to begin. Bring on the Cubs ! Here is a picture of Tommy Lasorda yelling at the fans and saying that the Cubs are going down !! 🙂

Here is a pix of Manny Ramirez and Nomar Garciaparra getting ready to speak to the fans. Nomar spoke and then introduced Manny by saying “Here is MannyWood !!!” Fans yelled “MVP, MVP, MVP !!” Then Manny said “First I want to appreciate you guys coming down here and support us and we are going to try to bring a championship to L.A. but you guys got to bring me back next year” The fans went crazy. Manny smiled and jumped up and down.

2008 Playoffs

This just in…. lol

UPDATED ! Brewers win the wild card. They will play against the Phillies. The Dodgers will play against the Cubs. Let’s Rock !

The Dodgers will open the Division Series on the road. Either in Chicago or Philadelphia. Who do you want ? Chose your poison. If the New York Mets win the wild card, we go to Philadelphia. If the Milwaukee Brewers win the wild card, we go to Chicago. I don’t mind which team we play. If we do play in Chicago, I think luck will be on our side. The Cubs were on this week’s Sports Illustrated Cover. That’s a curse. Some believe it on the curse. Others don’t. You judge for yourself.

Joe Torre always picks a player to manage the last game of the year. This year it will be Nomar Garciaparra. That’s pretty cool.

Manny 2009

Where will Manny Ramirez be playing in 2009 ? Before I make a prediction, check out this article by Michael Ventre. It was written on the day the Dodgers made the trade to get Manny. I bet Ventre wishes he didn’t wrote that article. Manny has been a great citizen and most important, a great player. He has been awesome. Stats .396 17 Bombs 53 RBI’s There have been lots of articles about his future. Bill Plaschke of the L.A. Times writes that it will be a bad deal if we sign Manny.  There is also a article about how much the Dodgers made this year just by having Manny on the team. Also, Manny admits he was unhappy in Boston. Okidoki…Manny is 36 years old. Scott Boras is the agent. Of course, Boras will be looking for 1 last big contract. I’m predicting he is going to want a 4 year contract paying him around 20 mil a year. Are the Dodgers willing to pay him that ? Is it safe to give him that much money for a guy that will be 40 years old by the end of this contract ? What will happen to Andruw Jones and Juan Pierre next year ? I will try to trade Pierre in the off-season. We have Andre Ethier and Matt Kemp set. That means there is

My prediction….Manny Ramirez will be playing for the New York Yankees for the next 4 years. Didn’t expect that, huh ? Yankees are mad. Manny spent his teen years in New York. For the last 8 years there have been rumors that Manny wants to play for the Yankees. Plus the way he ended his time with Boston, wouldn’t it be fun for him to play in New York ? The Yanks have the money. They will be opening a new stadium next year. It’s all set. Man-Ram is a Yankee 😦 I hope I’m wrong. In the mean time, let’s enjoy his time here and win a Championship !

Diamondbacks are playing a day game. If they lose against the Cardinals, it’s over. We clinch the West ! So if that happens, should the Dodgers celebrate and get drunk before the 7pm game ? lol 🙂
